New “Light Lounge” Sign Appears at EPCOT After Festival Favorite Closes

Festival fans may have said goodbye to The Citrus Blossom, but it appears EPCOT already has plans for what comes next.

The Odyssey Pavilion has long served as one of the park's most flexible locations, regularly changing themes depending on the season. Most recently, the building housed The Citrus Blossom during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Now, with the festival complete, Disney is introducing something entirely different.

Guests recently spotted new “Light Lounge at the Odyssey” signage installed outside the building, signaling a major shift away from its Flower & Garden Festival role.

The change happened quickly.

Not long after Flower & Garden wrapped up, the Citrus Blossom decorations disappeared from the pavilion. In their place came bright new graphics featuring colorful geometric designs that fit perfectly within EPCOT's updated World Celebration aesthetic.

The signage itself doesn't reveal much about what guests can expect, but the name offers some clues.

Unlike a festival kitchen or food booth, a lounge implies a destination. It suggests a space where guests can spend time rather than simply stopping by for a quick snack. That distinction could be important as Disney continues expanding the number of experiences available throughout EPCOT.

The timing is interesting as well.

Summer is one of the busiest seasons at Walt Disney World, and EPCOT can become especially warm during the afternoon hours. Indoor locations that offer shade, seating, and air conditioning are often just as valuable to guests as attractions.

If Light Lounge provides a comfortable indoor environment with specialty beverages, unique decor, or themed entertainment, it could become a popular stop for visitors looking to escape the heat.

The Odyssey Pavilion is well-positioned for that role.

Located near the center of the park, the building naturally attracts foot traffic from guests heading toward World Showcase or returning to World Celebration. Its location makes it easy for Disney to promote seasonal offerings while also providing much-needed capacity during crowded days.

For years, The Odyssey has changed identities depending on festival schedules and operational needs. This latest transformation continues that trend while potentially offering something more immersive than previous uses of the building.

Disney has not officially announced what Light Lounge will include, and details remain limited for now. However, the arrival of permanent-looking signage suggests this may be more than a simple placeholder between festivals.

As EPCOT continues evolving, Disney has shown a willingness to experiment with new experiences, especially in World Celebration. Light Lounge appears to be the latest example of that strategy.

For fans who enjoyed stopping by The Citrus Blossom, the change may feel bittersweet. But if Disney delivers a unique lounge experience that complements EPCOT's futuristic atmosphere, the Odyssey Pavilion could soon become one of the park's most interesting hidden gems.
