The Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland Park is being turned “inside out” over the next few months, and Disney released an exclusive preview of what’s taking shape behind the scenes.
Next to the Pixar Pier, the 15-story-high Paradise Pier Hotel is getting a makeover to become the first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the US. The Disneyland Resort aims to make the Guest experience comprehensive with a brand-new entrance to Disney California Adventure Park, merchandise deliveries from the Park to the Resort room, and extra Park hours for Pixar Place Guests.
While the initial news got us a-Buzz, the new concept art and previews might have us high-tailing over to Disneyland when the ribbon is cut.

What the Pixar Place Hotel Has in Store
The exterior of the Paradise Pier Hotel has already gotten a pop of color, but that’s just the start of Incredible changes happening at the Pixar paradise. Disney released concept art detailing a lobby featuring Joy from Inside Out at the front desk. Disney Parks Blog shared the following update:
When the transformation is complete, iconic images from Pixar films will be at the front desk, with characters pictured larger than life in curated artwork.
In poolside news, Pixar fans can swim along the EAC with Hank and Crush at the Pixar Place Hotel’s Finding Nemo water area. Featuring a 186-foot-long waterslide, the Pixar pool will be completed later this summer.
After long days at the pool, Guests can unwind at a family play court inspired by Pixar’s short films. With references to La Luna, Bao, For the Birds, and Burrow, families can engage in imaginative activities on the deck. According to Disney Parks Blog, Guests can enjoy another outdoor feature with a stunning view of the Disneyland Park fireworks:
And when it’s time to relax, guests may enjoy food and drinks under the love-struck umbrellas from ‘The Blue Umbrella.’
The All-New Restaurant
Pixar fans have another feature to feast their eyes (and stomachs) on. This fall, headed to the Pixar Hotel is a brand-new restaurant: Great Maple. With cuisine inspired by Southern California showcasing an imaginative take on upscale dining, the restaurant will be open to overnight Guests, locals, and Disneyland Park Guests.
Easily accessible and offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day, dreamy dishes will serve up comfort food to Disney diners. Disney Parks Blog revealed some of the delectable menu items, including:
Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts, the Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, and the Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs
Not only will Great Maple feature a full bar, but the hotel will offer perks for Guests, according to Disney:
Great Maple’s culinary creativity will abound throughout the hotel, offering food and beverage service at the pool, as well as a new grab ‘n’ go coffee shop and café near the lobby, and eventually at the hotel’s new concierge lounge.
Great Maple will be a great appetizer for the hotel’s official winter opening, and Disney Fanatic will continue to share Pixar updates along the way.
