Dare To Ride? New Coaster Will Drop Guests Over 500 Feet off a Cliff

The world of theme parks is about to witness a revolution, and it’s all thanks to a single roller coaster.

Falcons Flight – set to debut on December 31, 2025, with the rest of Six Flags Qiddiya – promises to redefine the limits of thrill rides with jaw-dropping stats that include the title of the tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster in the world.

Located just outside Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Six Flags Qiddiya is part of a larger leisure destination project known as Qiddiya City. However, Falcons Flight is undeniably its crown jewel.

For years, the idea of such an extreme roller coaster seemed more like a dream than a reality, with rumors swirling about the unimaginable speeds and heights it would reach.

Now, as the park's opening approaches, thrill-seekers around the globe are beginning to realize that Falcons Flight is not just a concept but a game-changer.

Falcons Flight Nears Completion

When it opens, Falcons Flight will soar to a staggering 195 meters (639.8 ft) in height, dwarfing the current tallest roller coasters by a long shot. Riders will also experience an unbelievable 158-meter (519.0 ft) drop. Combined, the stats will shatter records held by coasters like Formula Rossa at Ferrari World Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

The ride will also stretch approximately 4,250 meters (13,943.6 ft) in total length. This eclipses the current record-holder, Steel Dragon 2000 at Nagashima Spa Land, which is 2,479 meters (8,133.2 ft) long.

But height, speed, and length aren’t the only features that will make this coaster legendary.

Falcons Flight – which started testing in the summer of 2025 – will reach speeds of roughly 250 kilometers per hour (155.3 mph), making it the fastest roller coaster in the world (a record it’s set to snatch from Formula Rossa).

Unlike other high-speed rides, however, Falcons Flight’s design is focused on ensuring a thrilling but comfortable experience. Riders won’t need to wear goggles to protect their eyes from the blinding speed.

Instead, Intamin, the coaster’s designer, has integrated a curved windshield into the ride’s trains. This will help minimize wind resistance while providing a safer, more exhilarating experience.

Adding even more intensity to this already mind-blowing ride, Falcons Flight will send riders careening over the edge of a cliff. This feature promises to create one of the most unique and visually stunning roller coaster experiences ever imagined.

Intamin shared some photos of the final track pieces being dropped into place at Six Flags Qiddiya Falcons Flight.

What Else Can Guests Expect?

Six Flags Qiddiya won’t just be home to Falcons Flight. The park is set to offer a wide array of high-speed thrill rides. This includes Adrena-Line, a suspended coaster, and Sirocco Tower, which will stand as the world’s tallest free-standing shot tower ride at 145 meters tall.

With just over a month to go until Six Flags Qiddiya welcomes its first guests, it’s becoming clear that the world of theme parks is on the cusp of a major shift. Falcons Flight is ushering in a new era of roller coasters – one that's bigger and faster than ever.
