One of Disney’s rivals has officially beaten out the Mouse House to design the world’s tallest and fastest theme park ride.
There’s nothing quite like going to a Disney park to enjoy that quintessential Disney experience. If the Walt Disney Company has done one thing well, it’s differentiating itself from the crowd enough that the Disney Parks are notably unique and offer a distinctly immersive experience for guests to enjoy. For many years now, the Disney Parks have been the leading name when it comes to theme park entertainment, and understandably, so few can live up to the Disney brand.
However, recently, one of Disney’s rivals recently beat out the Mouse House when it comes to one particular achievement or record (depending on how you look at it). Here’s the news.

Six Flags Launches World’s Tallest and Fastest Coaster
Per a recent report from The Street, Disney’s rival, Six Flags, is well on its way to setting the record for the tallest and fastest coaster in the world. What’s more, the company intends to safeguard this achievement as much as possible.
What does this mean?
Six Flags’ new partner, Cedar Fair, will launch a new coaster at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, in 2024. The coaster will measure 420 feet and will reach speeds as fast as 120 mph. This might already strike audiences as incredibly impressive. But the truth is it doesn’t compare to Six Flags’s plans.
Not only does the theme park company already beat out this soon-to-open coaster with Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, beating out Top Thrill 2 with its current Kingda Ka ride that reaches 456 feet high and 128 mph, it’s actually going one step beyond to build the fastest and tallest roller coaster in the world.

Per this report, “the amusement park operator is building its new Six Flags Qiddiya park in Saudi Arabia that will include the Falcon’s Flight roller coaster that towers over all coasters in the world at 640 feet with a speed of up to 155 mph.”
This new park will open in October 2024, and with its launch, Six Flags will solidify its place in the theme park business. While Universal and Disney are both worthy competitors, neither has made any announcement of late to even try to take on Six Flags’ current feat.
Who are Disney’s Main Rivals?
While Six Flags is certainly a notable rival of the Mouse House, one of the most commonly referenced competitors Disney has is Universal, with its Central Florida theme park Universal Orlando. Universal Orlando is home to many wonderful rides and attractions, which have a home in one of three theme parks (with a fourth to come soon)—Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, Universal Volcano Bay Water Theme Park, and Universal Epic Universe, set to open in 2025.
