Visiting most Disney parks is not something that is considered a cheap experience. And the magic just got a lot more expensive for those visiting Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
On October 11, Disney announced that price increases were going into effect for most dated tickets and annual passes at its US theme parks. Only two tickets did not see an increase — a Tier One park ticket at Disneyland and the 1-day Park Hopper add-on at Disneyland. Some ticket prices increased by almost 20%, and some Park Hopper add-ons even increased by 25%.
With Disney’s ticket increases, visiting Disney California Adventure will cost guests $194 for one day if that day is a weekend. $194 to visit one park for one day. That price does not include Park Hopping. A visit to Disneyland Park will also cost $194.
At Disneyland Park, guests have access to nearly 70 rides, attractions, and experiences. This includes Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, “it’s a small world”, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and so much more. Disney California Adventure has less than 50 rides and experiences.
Not long after the drastic increases were revealed, fans took to social media to share that one Disney theme park is just not worth the price. That park would be Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort.
Disney California Adventure is NOT worth $194 especially with no musical show or parade. This park needs more dark rides to justify the price! 👎
While at Tokyo Disneyland the expensive ticket is $73!!!👍

Guests visiting California Adventure used to be able to sit and watch the Pixar Play Parade during the day and the incredible Paint the Night Parade at night. They could also head to the Hyperion theater — located next to Avengers Campus — to watch a fun show. Both parades have not been brought back since COVID and Rogers: The Musical stopped having shows on August 31.
Some even pointed out that guests could get Annual Passes at other theme parks for LESS than one day at DCA.
For less than $194, you can get a one year season pass for these theme parks in Southern California: @Knotts, @SFMagicMountain, @LEGOLAND_CA, @SeaWorld
Knott’s Berry Farm $99
Six Flags Magic Mountain $105
SeaWorld San Diego $110
Legoland $179

Guests can also head to Universal Studios Hollywood and purchase a California Neighbor Pass for $179. The Neighbor Pass allows guests to visit Universal Studios Hollywood more than 150 days per year. At USH, guests can visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, meet Mario and Luigi at Super Nintendo World, come face to face with a mummy, and even be turned into a minion.
If things could not be more confusing, Disneyland Resort tickets are divided into six tiers. Tier 6 is the most expensive tier and lets guests visit any day of the week. The lower the tier, the more blackout days apply. Tiers range from Tier 0 to Tier 6.
Fans, as expected, were not happy with the ticket increase. Guests have constantly complained about Disney increasing its prices to visit and enjoy the parks, but things keep getting taken away from them. They say that the food quality has gone down and rides are constantly breaking down. They feel that if Disney wants to increase its ticket prices, then they need to improve guests’ experience at the parks.
