Orlando International Airport (MCO) continues to be the proverbial port of entry for Disney World and other Theme Park enthusiasts around the Globe. It is one step closer to being able to welcome even more visitors at a time.
According to Spectrum News 13, “The highly anticipated new Terminal C is nearly 90% complete and will soon provide an additional 15 gates. When the new Terminal C opens up, it is expected to add the total number of passengers that come through this airport by about 12 million.”

It is unclear at this time if Terminal C will be used strictly for domestic flights or if International Flights will also take advantage of the new gates, but it will be undoubtedly filled with at least some excited families bound for The Most Magical Place On Earth. The terminal is expected to be completed within the first half of this year (2022).
The development comes as MCO continues construction of a station for Florida’s privately-operated higher-speed rail line Brightline that has plans to connect MCO to Miami, Disney World, and Tampa.
Called the Intermodal Terminal Facility, MCO explains on its website:
The Intermodal Terminal Facility (ITF) consists of approximately 1.3 million square feet of terminal space accommodating the South APM and up to three regional rail systems (SunRail commuter rail, BrightLine inter-city rail, and possibly a third system serving the International Drive/Convention Center area). It will also support ground transportation activity including taxis, shuttle buses and public bus operations.
