Guests walking through Paradise Gardens Park can finally see the results of a project that kept The Little Mermaid – Ariel's Undersea Adventure under wraps for two months. Disneyland Resort has removed the scrim and most of the scaffolding, and the refreshed attraction building at Disney California Adventure Park is back in view.
How the Project Unfolded

Construction walls appeared around the attraction in August. As the weeks went by, scrim and scaffolding crept around the entire facade, covering nearly everything except the entrance to the Little Mermaid (1989)-inspired ride.
In mid-October, Disney cast members rolled up the scrim and secured it to the scaffolding, offering a first glimpse of what they accomplished during two months of work. Now the fabric and most of the framework are gone from the attraction building at Disney California Adventure Park.
The Latest Look

WDWNT shared photos on October 28 showing the ride without scaffolding or scrim for the first time since construction began. Plywood barriers still surround parts of the attraction building and its outdoor queue, so some areas remain blocked.
The changes appear to be cosmetic. Disneyland Resort doesn't seem to have altered the building's design. Instead, the cream walls, bronze trim, blue columns, and other details look freshly repainted after years of weather damage and wear.
What's Still Standing

One stretch of scaffolding remains on the side of the building near the covered outdoor queue. With the scrim removed, that scaffolding and the leftover plywood walls are likely to be cleared soon, although Disneyland Resort hasn't announced a timeline.
Disneyland Resort never addressed the project publicly. Even with the extensive exterior work, the attraction remained open and operational throughout so that guests could ride The Little Mermaid – Ariel's Undersea Adventure the entire time.
