Pirates of the Caribbean didn't make it to opening time on Tuesday. As of the early afternoon, the New Orleans Square attraction still hadn't welcomed a single Disneyland Park guest.
Closed Since Before the Park Opened

Pirates of the Caribbean failed to open alongside the rest of Disneyland Park at 8:00 a.m. on July 7. By early afternoon, the official Disneyland Resort app still listed the boat ride as “temporarily closed,” with no indication of when it might reopen.
WDW News Today shared a photo of Disney cast members entertaining guests outside the shuttered New Orleans Square attraction — a familiar sight whenever a popular ride goes down for an extended period.
Disneyland Resort has not issued any public statement about the closure or provided a reopening timeline. Attraction cast members, as standard practice, are not authorized to share technical reasons for closures and are instead instructed to keep waiting guests entertained.
Recent Pirates of the Caribbean Controversy

The timing of Tuesday's closure comes after a turbulent stretch for Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Park. During the attraction's most recent refurbishment, Disneyland Resort replaced a classic skeleton figure from the original 1967 ride with a facially projected, audio-animatronic figure —a change that generated significant backlash from Disney Parks fans. Shortly after, the new figure disappeared, its face covered by a skeleton mask, leading many to assume the resort had pulled it in response to the criticism.
That theory was effectively put to rest on July 5 when the audio-animatronic returned to the attraction. Whether Tuesday's closure is connected to lingering technical issues with the new figure hasn't been confirmed.

Disneyland Resort has not sent push notifications through its mobile app about the Pirates of the Caribbean closure — something Disney sometimes does when a major attraction is down for an extended period. For now, it's unclear when the New Orleans Square ride will reopen.
