A former White House and Pentagon official who was a “poster child” Disney kid shared how the company could be saved, and the suggestion might surprise you.
The Walt Disney Company is known to be one of the most progressive and innovative entertainment companies in the world, and for good reason. For many years now, Disney has always had some of the foremost minds in storytelling, animation, and filmmaking working for them and bringing to life some classic stories that have permeated our cultural consciousness.

Former Disney Kid Claims Kurt Russell Could Return Company to “Former Glory”
Douglas MacKinnon, a former White House and Pentagon official and the author of The 56—Liberty Lessons from Those Who Risked All to Sign the Declaration of Independence, shared his frustration with Disney and his suggestions to fix the situation as well.
MacKinnon explained that as a child, he was subject to abject poverty and had an incredibly hard life, and Disney’s entertainment was one of his primary sources of comfort. Referring to himself as a “poster child” of a Disney kid, MacKinnon criticized Disney for the same issues that many have pointed out before: unnecessarily politicizing their content and driving home a woke agenda.

MacKinnon wrote,
I am here to remind current Disney CEO Bob Iger and his leadership team that tens of millions of Americans are fighting every single day of their lives to overcome the worst that life has to offer. A nightmare often foisted upon them by partisan politics.
Those deeply hurting and continually frightened Americans don’t want to be lectured or talked down to by “entertainment” companies. They want – and desperately need – to be entertained.

Why Kurt Russell?
Kurt Russell earned his Disney Legend status in 2015. Two years later, he and his partner, Goldie Hawn, also received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. So, it’s no surprise that many consider him to be the perfect solution to Disney’s current problems.
In addition, Mackinnon explains his rationale for bringing Russell back.
“For years, Russell’s name was synonymous with the Disney brand…Russell did – and does – know the mindset of Walt Disney as well as his values. More than that, Russell is a libertarian who would bring common sense, pragmatic and non-political thinking and creativity back to Disney.”
