As the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes rage on in Hollywood, more and more Disney or Marvel stars are speaking out in support of the strikes and speaking out against Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger after hearing his very-poorly-received response to actors’ and writers’ demands.
Now, Disney’s newest rising star has joined the fray and shaken things up even more! Snow White star Rachel Zegler, who was apparently already a controversial Disney princess choice in the Disney-loving community, is now facing some blowback after standing up for her rights to be compensated for her work.
“I Deserve to Be Paid”
Rachel Zegler said the following from the picket lines: “If I’m going to stand there 18 hours in the dress of an iconic Disney princess, I deserve to be paid every hour that it is streamed online.”

Black Widow Meets Disney Princesses
This is reminiscent of the same point that many other protesting actors and writers are making, but is also particularly reminiscent of the now-famous lawsuit that Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson filed against Disney+ for allegedly robbing her of significant profits after making the movie a streaming release instead of a theatrical one.
The Black Widow lawsuit caused quite a stir at the time, but it was also a predecessor for strikes like the ones that Rachel Zegler is ardently supporting.
Unfortunately for the new Snow White, some people are now calling her “insufferable” and “entitled”. She is also being labeled as a privileged member of the generation called Gen Z, which is being attacked for possessing extreme “entitlement.”
“Gen Z’s entire attitude encapsulated in one video,” one Twitter user wrote in response to the post.
However, plenty of people also supported Zegler’s comment and noted that the point she was making is, in fact, the same point that everyone else striking seems to be trying to make.
“There’s Not a Single Thing Wrong With What She Said”
“There’s not a single thing wrong with what she said. She’s 100% right,” one person declared.
“Woman speaks up because she DESERVES to be paid and is deemed insufferable. Lmao,” another person Tweeted in disgust. Yet another onlooker pointed out that it’s “very odd that the ‘you gotta work hard and not get handouts” crowd is also being the ‘you shouldn’t get paid for your work’ crowd.”
“People calling this entitlement is so crazy,” someone else chimed in. “Yes actually she is entitled to the value of her own labor.”
The West Side Story actress defended herself in her own Tweet, asking the following: “is it woke to wanna be fairly compensated”?

Zegler also confirmed that she “is still on strike and still a proud SAG-AFTRA member” in another Tweet.
Are you a fan of the new Snow White film and of Rachel Zegler, even if some supposedly-misunderstood images from the set of the film have caused some recent controversies about Snow White’s seven dwarfs?
