Salt & Straw Ice Cream Opening Soon in Disney Springs

Ice cream lovers rejoice! A new handmade ice cream spot is coming soon to the Walt Disney World Resort. Since the closing of fan-favorite ice cream shop Ample Hills Creamery at Disney’s BoardWalk in 2020, Guests with a sweet tooth have been hoping for a similar replacement (especially when it was thought that Ample Hills may be opening a location later on at Disney Springs.)

We can now confirm that Salt & Straw, another store offering delicious handmade ice cream will be opening soon in Disney Springs, and we cannot wait to give it a try! Salt & Straw at Disney Springs is now confirmed for a March 2022 opening.

Salt & Straw is already a staple sweet shop at Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort, and the Disney Springs shop will be the first location to open in the Orlando area. (There are two other Salt & Straw locations in Florida, both located near Miami.)

Salt & Straw is no ordinary ice cream shop. In addition to unique twists on classic flavors, each Salt & Straw location boasts an impressive variety of vegan ice cream flavors. Disney Springs is already one of the best places to eat at Walt Disney World if you are looking for delicious vegan options, so we are excited to have some more vegan ice cream flavors added to the mix.

While it is too soon to know which flavors will be available when Salt & Straw opens at Disney Springs in March, we have been browsing their menus online and have already lined up a couple of must-eats! For a vegan option, we would never turn down a carrot cake and cream cheese frosting ice cream, and for non-vegan items, we can’t wait to try flavors like Cinnamon Snickerdoodle, Honey Lavender, Chocolate Gooey Brownie, and Cold Brew Coffee Cashew Praline, just to name a few.

The company also sources as many ingredients locally as they are able to, and they spend a lot of time supporting local communities through fundraising efforts for schools, supporting local artists, and more.
