SeaWorld Orlando Just Made Halloween Horror Nights Look Over Its Shoulder

There is something that happens every year right around the middle of summer when the first Halloween event announcements start rolling in. The heat is still brutal, the sun is still relentless, and yet something shifts. You start thinking about cooler nights and fog machines and that specific feeling of walking through a haunted house with your heart in your throat. For those of us in the Orlando area, that feeling has a very specific calendar attached to it, and this week SeaWorld Orlando just made fall feel a whole lot closer.

Howl-O-Scream is officially returning to SeaWorld Orlando for its sixth year, running on select nights from September 11 through October 31. If you have never experienced this event, now is genuinely the time to change that. And if you are already a fan, everything coming out of this announcement suggests 2026 is going to be the biggest year yet.

What the SeaWorld Event Looks Like This Year

The complete lineup is still being revealed throughout the summer, but SeaWorld has already confirmed the broad strokes. This year's Howl-O-Scream will include five haunted houses, six scare zones, five themed bars, and two live entertainment shows. Additional details will be announced via SeaWorld Orlando's social channels in the weeks ahead, so there is still plenty to look forward to as the season approaches.

The one haunted house that has been officially unveiled is an original concept called Everything Must Stay. The premise is the kind of slow-burn unsettling that tends to stay with you well after you leave. A suburban home has sat unsold for six years because every single prospective buyer fled in terror during open houses. Guests walk through the property to figure out what is keeping people away, and as the supernatural forces inside begin to wake up around them, they start to understand the one phrase that echoes through every room: Everything Must Stay. It is the kind of concept that sounds deceptively simple until you are actually inside it.

Beyond the haunted attractions, the park itself transforms completely after dark. Scare zones take over familiar pathways, live entertainment fills the spaces between frights, and some of SeaWorld's most beloved roller coasters keep running deep into the night. Mako, Ice Breaker, Pipeline: The Surf Coaster, and Expedition Odyssey: Fire and Ice are all confirmed to operate during the event, and riding them after dark is genuinely a different experience.

The Howl-O-Sprint 5K Is Back at SeaWorld

For those in the running community, the Howl-O-Sprint 5K is returning for its third year on the evening of Friday September 18. The race starts at 8 PM and takes runners through active scare zones and past the park's coasters before finishing at an exclusive post-race party with a themed bar, food, and live entertainment. Every registered participant receives a finisher medal, a commemorative race shirt, free parking, and a free Howl-O-Scream ticket valid through October 31.

Early registration is open now starting at $85 for general participants and $66.66 for Annual Pass Members through September 4. The race is capped at 2,000 participants. For anyone who has done runDisney events and is curious about something with a completely different atmosphere at a more accessible price point, the Howl-O-Sprint is well worth a look.

Tickets Are Already on Sale

SeaWorld launched a Sinister Sale alongside the announcement with single-night tickets starting at $34.99 and savings of up to 70 percent. Annual Pass Members can get in from $29.99 with savings reaching up to 75 percent. For a Halloween event of this scale in Orlando, those prices represent real value and the early sale window will not last forever.

More announcements are on the way as summer continues. Opening night is September 11, and everything pointing toward it suggests this community is going to have a lot to talk about this fall.
