It is not even hurricane season yet, and the State of Florida is already experiencing weather severe enough to delay flights in and out.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, Orlando International Airport is averaging 90-minute delays on departing flights as the Central Florida area braces for high winds, hail, and tornado warnings.

Severe thunderstorms have been rolling through the State, causing warnings to be issued in Orange and Seminole counties due to 60 mph wind gusts and “penny-sized hail.”
Orlando International Airport remains a main port of entry for families bound for Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, and the rest of the Orlando Metro Area. If departing flights are delayed, there is reason to believe several arriving flights are delayed as well.
It is, of course, unclear how many Disney World vacations this is affecting at this time.

These storms are just the latest of a series coming down from the north, most notably causing severe flooding in Fort Lauderdale and all of Broward County.
It should be noted, though, that the Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando are built to withstand any and all storms that will hit the area, and there are few safer places to be during a Florida storm than at Disney World Resort Hotel.

All would-be Disney World Guests, though, should continue to monitor their flight plans or find shelter from these storms. The shutdown of outside attractions and shows is to be expected in stormy conditions as well.
