Universal Error: Baby Dragon Shuts Down During Meet-and-Greet!

Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe faced a brief disruption yesterday when one of the park’s iconic baby dragons malfunctioned shortly before a scheduled meet-and-greet. The beloved robotic dragon, which draws crowds as part of the Isle of Berk land’s How to Train Your Dragon experience, experienced a minor technical glitch that caused it to unexpectedly “fall asleep” as it entered the designated area for interaction with guests.

Goodnight Dragon

The baby dragon, a key attraction in the new Epic Universe area, is known for its realistic movements and interactive capabilities, which allow guests to get up close and personal with the animated character. However, as the dragon approached the area where it would engage with visitors, it froze, much to the surprise of onlookers. The malfunction prevented the dragon from performing its usual motions, leading to the decision to remove it from the area.

Park staff immediately took action to address the issue. The dragon was quickly ushered backstage for repairs, and the meet-and-greet was temporarily paused. Guests who had gathered to interact with the dragon were informed of the situation, and they were encouraged to explore other attractions while the issue was resolved.

Universal Orlando Resort is known for its high-tech attractions and immersive experiences, and while technical issues are not uncommon, this particular incident affected the fan-favorite baby dragon.

And the Show Goes On!

Despite the brief disruption, the malfunction was promptly addressed, and the dragon was back in action after a short period of downtime. The rest of the day’s meet-and-greet sessions proceeded as planned, allowing guests another chance to interact with the robot dragon.

Universal Orlando continues to provide cutting-edge technology and immersive experiences throughout Epic Universe, with this small glitch being a reminder of the complexities involved in operating highly advanced robotic characters. Although this setback caused a temporary disappointment for some, the baby dragon remains a popular attraction, and guests are expected to have more opportunities to enjoy the unique experience.

The attraction’s brief pause didn’t seem to dampen overall excitement for the rest of the day’s events. With Universal’s commitment to maintaining top-tier experiences for its guests, fans can look forward to continued magic in Epic Universe, with all of the advanced technology and immersive attractions that the park has to offer.
