Guests Invited to “Showering With DeSantis” at Typhoon Lagoon

It’s been more than a year since the relationship between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and The Walt Disney Company devolved into an all-out war. Disney spoke out against a controversial Florida bill that the governor was a big proponent of. Governor DeSantis did not take kindly to the perceived slight and began working with the Florida state legislature to punish the Mouse House. The governor and the state stripped Walt Disney World of its right to self-govern, threatened to build a prison next to the Resort, and put the monorail under state inspection control.

DeSantis’ repeated attacks on Disney have created a big divide and have become front and center for those campaigning against the Presidential hopeful. Opponents like Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, and even Donald Trump have all used the fight with Disney to attack DeSantis. The attacks took an especially ironic turn when it was discovered that DeSantis actually got married at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

DeSantis obviously hasn’t visited Walt Disney World Resort since the fight began, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t using the battle for comedy. Recently, a satirical invitation was sent out. The invitation invited people to “Showering With Ron DeSantis”, which will take place at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park. The invitation says that each plate will cost $2,800 and each Guest will receive a free DeSantis 2024 loofah.

The Floridian received a copy of the invitation and reached out to the governor and his campaign committee to see if it was true. At this time, DeSantis has not responded to the fake invitation. So, technically, he hasn’t said that it was fake. However, it seems that, since Disney is at the top of DeSantis’ “no-go” list, it would be unlikely that he would actually host an event at Walt Disney World Resort.

In addition to that, Disney does not typically host political events at its Parks. There have been events hosted at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin hotels, but those hotels aren’t actually owned by Disney.
