For Four Months, Disneyland Guests Are Stuck With a Fake Castle

Visiting Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park this summer means settling for a dressed-up version of the real thing. Unfortunately, that's not changing anytime soon.

The plain white plywood barriers that appeared around the Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge earlier this month have been replaced with something more visually appealing. Disneyland Paris Resort has covered the construction walls with themed scrim, giving guests at least the suggestion of a castle backdrop as they line up for photos with the Disneyland Park landmark. Disneyland Paris Resort confirmed that the Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge refurbishment will continue through late September 2026, meaning guests visiting between now and then will see the same construction-clad castle. On the operational side, the castle walkthrough and La Tanière du Dragon — The Lair of the Dragon — remain open throughout the project, accessible via alternate entrances.

Sleeping Beauty Castle isn't the only part of Disneyland Park currently behind walls. Main Street, U.S.A. has its own section of plywood barriers near a popcorn cart, the purpose of which the European Disney park hasn't publicly addressed. The Town Square Gazebo refurbishment — which kicked off back in November 2025 — is now in its final phases near the park entrance.

The most disruptive ongoing project, however, remains the closure of Plaza Gardens Restaurant. The Main Street, U.S.A. dining location is shut down through early 2027 for a major reimagining, and the construction around it has forced two essential guest services to relocate entirely.

First Aid has been temporarily moved to a structure in Discoveryland. The Baby Care Center, meanwhile, has taken over the former Annual Passholder office near the park entrance, effectively suspending Disneyland Paris Annual Pass pop-up surprise events at that location for at least the next year.
