Looking for the best ways to celebrate the holidays in the Magic Kingdom? Earlier in the holiday season at Walt Disney World, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is a special experience limited to Guests attending after-hours events in the Magic Kingdom. During Christmas week however, the parade is performed twice daily, and new for this year, the parade will be available as a Lightning Lane option for Guests who purchase Genie+.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will run at 12 pm and 3:45 pm from December 22 through December 29 and at 12 pm and 3:30 pm on December 30 and 31, 2021. If you are visiting the Magic Kingdom during those dates and have Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade on your must-do list, be sure to check Disney Genie for available Lightning Lane slots to score yourself a view of the parade from a reserved area.

The reserved viewing area is located on east side of Cinderella Castle where the parade will pass by before turning to head down Main Street USA. If a time slot is available during your visit to Disney World this week, you will find it on the Disney Genie side of the My Disney Experience app available the day of your visit.

If you are unable to find a timeslot within Genie+ for the parade, you will still find plenty of viewing along Main Street, Liberty Square and Frontierland. And with the parade running through the Magic Kingdom two times a day this week, you’ll have an extra chance to catch it in case you miss it the first time.

Even with the parade taking place at both noon and 3:30, we do know that Christmas week is one of the busiest weeks of the year at Walt Disney World, so if you are not using Genie+ for reserved viewing, we recommend staking out your spot to watch the parade early.

We will keep you updated here on Disney Fanatic as we learn more about any updates to Genie+ and holiday offerings at the Walt Disney World Resort.
