Remember Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser? Walt Disney World’s luxury two‑night, immersive “voyage” that asked families to shell out cruise‑level cash for a windowless hotel room? It opened in 2022 and shut its blast doors just 18 months later, crashing harder than the Death Star in Star Wars: Episode V — A New Hope (1977).
Fortunately, if you still want to lose yourself in a faraway galaxy—without taking out a loan, that is—there’s another option: “Star Wars Outlaws.”
Ubisoft’s open‑world game launched last August, and while reviews were certainly mixed, and sales started off slow, mostly due to graphics complaints, it still lets players explore multiple planets and carve their own path in the Star Wars franchise as thief‑turned‑smuggler Kay Vess.

Compared with two days aboard the Halcyon, a $70 copy of “Star Wars Outlaws” (rough sales price only) looks downright reasonable. And now, the adventure is about to grow.
On May 15, Ubisoft will drop its second story pack, “A Pirate’s Fortune,” whose cinematic trailer was revealed during last week’s Star Wars Celebration. The DLC pairs Kay with fan‑favorite rogue Hondo Ohnaka—yes, the smooth‑talking Weequay pirate from the animated shows, The Clone Wars and Rebels. You can check out the trailer below:
“Outlaws” might not be the immersive experience fans were hoping for–it certainly disappoints almost as much as it impresses–but by comparison, you get far more for your Galactic Credits than you ever would have aboard the Halcyon.
Meanwhile, who knows what will happen to Galactic Starcruiser. Disney might refurbish the building into a more affordable hotel someday. Until then, grabbing a controller is the easiest way to explore the faraway galaxy, at just a fraction of the cost.
