On Saturday night before the Super Bowl, Taylor Swift was on stage in Japan. Moments after the show was over, she was whisked away to an airport and jumped on her private jet to head to Las Vegas for the big game.
Millions of Swifties across the globe were glued to their computers, awaiting word on Taylor’s safe arrival in the States. There was a brief collective sigh of relief when her plane landed in Los Angeles to refuel. But a few hours later, their prayers were answered as Taylor Swift successfully made it across the globe to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs play in the NFL’s Super Bowl.

Without even realizing it, Taylor Swift and her journey to get to the Super Bowl may have also inadvertently solved one of Walt Disney World’s biggest problems, and now the solution seems so simple.
Last week, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Disney Plus would be the exclusive streaming home for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour documentary. Reports later surfaced that Iger and Disney paid $75 million for the rights to the global phenomenon. But is it possible that Iger may have bigger plans for Disney’s newfound relationship with Taylor Swift than just streaming her tour?

Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster Retheme?
On January 8, the Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios shut down for a lengthy refurbishment. This is the second time in two years that it has needed a lengthy rehab. Walt Disney World has not yet announced when the attraction will reopen, but most insiders believe it won’t open until this summer.
So, why the lengthy shutdown of the fan-favorite ride? Most insiders believe that the Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster is being shut down this year to fix what was done during the 2023 shutdown.
But Disney World has a more significant problem with the Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster, and it’s Aerosmith. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has been accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct. Many believe that Disney would use the 2023 shutdown to strip Aerosmith and Steven Tyler from the ride in favor of another band.

Enter Taylor Swift. Her journey to get to the Super Bowl to see her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, has essentially rewritten the entire introduction to the ride.
Rather than the Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster taking guests through the music of Aerosmith, which has been outdated for nearly two decades, the music of Taylor Swift can take over Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Unlike Aerosmith, who recently started their farewell tour, Taylor Swift is only 34 and will be making music for decades to come. It also opens Disney World up to a new group of diehard fans: the Swifties, who have already shown they are willing to spend thousands just to be in the same area as Taylor.

So, with Bob Iger already having spent $75 million on the Eras Tours, why not drop some of that planned $60 billion for Disney theme park expansions on bringing Taylor Swift to Hollywood Studios? Perhaps the Taylor Swift era in Disney World has already begun.
