When the high school drama and romantic comedy Mean Girls came out years ago, no one could have expected that it would become a staple in pop culture and populate the DVD shelves for many a girls’ night. The story of a new girl’s adjustment to a clique-focused high school and her journey through the highs and lows of popularity ended up being a huge success, and is often quoted in many peoples’ day to day lives (if you’re not familiar with the highlights, check out the parody below, which has been seen by practically every Mean Girls and Disney fan with Internet access)! Now, the Disney princess are being featured in Mean Girls via a parody comic made by Blogicomics, who has made Disney princess comics before. Read on to see how the story would progress if the Disney princesses were the characters in the movie, and to see the famous quote that explains why this particular week is so significant for Mean Girls fans!

Just like in the parody above, we see in Blogicomics’ comic that three of the classic Disney princesses are still the mean ones. In this case, it’s Cinderella, Aurora, and Snow White. Why is that tendency in Disney parodies so popular? We can only guess–but perhaps it’s because they’re particularly recognizable, or because their personalities feel more distant as Disney’s newer princesses get more and more approachable and relatable! Either way, the parody begins with Ariel being mocked as the new student, and with the other princesses being unkind.

As the new student in the face of popular Disney princesses, Ariel understandably feels like a fish out of water (see what we did there, Little Mermaid fans?). But her crush Prince Eric makes her day–when he asks her about the day!

Ariel’s confidence and comfort is restored! We’re not surprised that Prince Eric would be kind and do something nice like finding a reason to talk to the new girl and make her feel welcome. And with Prince Eric’s charm, kingdom, goodness, and good looks, we’re also not surprised that the other princesses are jealous (don’t worry girls, your princes will come)! Disney comics are a common feature of the Blogicomics Instagram page, so keep checking back to see what else is released (and check out their other Disney princess high school comic, and their Disney princess workout comics)!
