Let’s be honest—there’s never a bad time to visit Disney World… but some weeks definitely come close. If you’ve ever booked a trip only to find out it’s the same week as a cheerleading competition, marathon, or massive holiday crowd, you know what I’m talking about.
This cheat sheet is here to help you out. Whether you’re planning your first trip or your fifteenth, knowing when to go can make all the difference.
The Best Weeks to Visit Disney World in 2025
Mid-January (Jan 13–17)
Right after the New Year rush, the parks breathe a sigh of relief. It’s cooler, lines are shorter, and the Festival of the Arts adds a fun flair to EPCOT. Fewer crowds, cheaper rooms—what’s not to like?
Early May (April 28–May 2)
This is one of the most underrated weeks. You dodge the spring breakers and the summer vacationers. It’s warm but not Florida-inferno warm, and Flower & Garden is still blooming.
Mid-September (Sept 16–20)
Schools are back in session and the Halloween decorations are already out. It’s one of the quietest times in the parks—as long as there’s no hurricane brewing. Lower hotel prices and short waits make this a fan-favorite week for good reason.
First Week of December (Dec 2–6)
This might be the closest you get to a picture-perfect Disney trip. The weather’s nice, the crowds are moderate, and the parks are fully decked out for the holidays. It’s basically Christmas magic without the full-on December madness.
The Worst Weeks to Visit in 2025
First Full Week of August (Aug 4–10)
If you can avoid Florida in August, do it. Heat index? Miserable. Afternoon storms? Almost guaranteed. Crowds? Still heavy thanks to summer vacations wrapping up. It’s the trifecta of trouble.
Thanksgiving Week (Nov 24–30)
This week is one of Disney’s busiest—hands down. Every park hits capacity, Lightning Lanes fill up fast, and good luck finding last-minute dining reservations. It’s festive, but it’s also intense.
Pro Tips for Better Timing

Holidays look magical, but the week before a major holiday usually offers the same festive perks with far less stress.
