A shocking incident at Walt Disney World Resort left guests stunned when a man jumped out of his ride vehicle on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, taking his young child with him. The act caused a significant delay for dozens of other guests.
Chaos on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the highly anticipated retheme of Splash Mountain, opened at Magic Kingdom Park in June 2024, with Disneyland Resort’s version following in November. Inspired by Disney’s The Princess and the Frog (2009), the attraction immerses guests in a lively New Orleans adventure alongside Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis), and Louis (Michael-Leon Wooley).

Walt Disney World Resort’s version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure struggled in its first few months in operations, with repeated breakdowns and early closures. But this week’s events had nothing to do with animatronics or technical issues. Instead, one guest disrupted the ride entirely when he jumped out of his log with his child in tow, ignoring clear safety instructions.
An anonymous witness shared details of the incident in the public “Walt Disney World Trips and Tricks” Facebook group, along with a photo showing the man standing inside a dimly lit portion of the ride just before the attraction’s second indoor drop.
Guest Ignored Safety Warnings
According to the witness, the ride had paused about ten minutes prior, with Disney cast members instructing guests to remain seated. But instead of waiting, the man decided to exit his log and attempt to leave the ride entirely.

“Shout out to this guy, who held up everyone on Tiana’s for 30-40 minutes because he and his son jumped out of their log,” the witness wrote. “The ride had been paused for maybe 10 minutes with very clear announcements to remain seated. He chose to jump out of the log with his kid and try to exit.”
Security cameras inside the attraction likely picked up the incident, though Disney cast members weren’t physically present at the scene.
“The cast members came over the speaker 3 times – yes, 3 times – asking him to get back into the log, and he refused,” the witness said. “He began shining his phone flashlight around looking for an exit, as well as waving the bright light in our faces as we sat there dumbfounded on why he was doing this.”

The guest’s refusal to comply led to an even longer delay.
“Eventually, another cast member came over the speaker telling him to stay where he was and that someone would be there to escort them out shortly,” the witness explained.
”We went from a 10 minute ride pause to a 30-40 minute ride pause because of this guy,” they concluded, urging others to follow Disney’s safety protocols. “Just sharing this as a reminder to please follow the rules and stay in your ride vehicle!!! There was absolutely no need for this to happen. This guy is teaching his son that the rules don’t matter and you can do whatever you want, even if it inconveniences everyone else.”
Ride Safety is Non-Negotiable

Exiting a moving ride at Disney Parks isn’t just disruptive; it’s dangerous. Attractions like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure have strict safety measures for a reason, and unauthorized movement through ride areas can pose risks to both guests and cast members.
Although ride pauses can be frustrating, guests should always stay seated and wait for instructions from cast members. Trust that Disney teams are working quickly to resume the ride or evacuate guests safely if needed.

Part of the problem is the constant breakdowns on the ride(s). I have been to WDW 4 times, and rode Splash Mountain at least once each time….maybe 6-7 times total. There was never a stop or breakdown. What has happened ???
One hopes that the offender was caught and banned fir life, and turned over to the police for child endanerment.
