‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’ Will Debut at the D23 Expo

Disney fans have reacted strongly (and oftentimes negatively) to plenty of Disney announcements in recent months — but the closing of the Magic Kingdom water ride Splash Mountain and the induction of the replacement ride, which is the Princess and the Frog ride called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, has gotten particularly strong reactions from Disney Guests.

We already know a bit about the plans for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (courtesy of Imagineer Charita Carter), the plot of the ride, and Princess Tiana’s new outfits for the Magic Kingdom ride — but now it has also been announced that a preview of the new Princess and the Frog attraction will be available to the attendees of D23’s big upcoming event, the D23 Expo!

Tickets are unfortunately sold out for the D23 Expo (which begins on September 9 and is always chock-full of special Disney reveals and experiences), so D23 fans and Princess and the Frog enthusiasts who cannot attend the D23 Expo in person might just have to wait and see what anyone attending the expo can report about the ride.

The team behind the D23 podcast will no doubt be in attendance, too! It is unclear if Anika Noni Rose, the voice of the Disney princess and New Orleans heroine Tiana, will join the event. Anika Noni Rose has been openly enthusiastic about the new Disney ride, even as some Disney fans criticize Disney’s replacement of Splash Mountain with a ride dedicated to the World Princess Week honoree Tiana.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will focus on a Mardi Gras celebration (fitting for the New Orleans setting) and, as indicated in the new ride’s name, a bayou adventure. You can see Princess Tiana in her new bayou-friendly attire below, which was designed with great thought and attention to detail!
