Florida’s high-speed passenger rail service is one step closer to finally beginning service to and from its new station at Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Following previous announcements, tickets connecting travelers to Orlando and Miami will go on sale this coming week.

“As soon as next week, we’re gonna put tickets on sale for future dates so that people can start making their plans for the fall and the winter,” Patrick Goddard, president of Brightline, said to WFTV.

Positioned in Terminal C at MCO, Brightline will connect people in Orlando to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and the rest of Florida’s Southeast Corridor–including the cruise terminals Port Everglades and Port of Miami (both of which service Disney Cruise Line ships)–reaching speeds up to 130 miles per hour.

But the Orlando connection remains just the latest step in Brightline’s Florida plans. It still plans to extend the passenger service down and across the peninsula to Tampa by way of two stops planned near the Orange County Convention Center (built with the help of Universal Orlando Resort) and International Drive (near Walt Disney World Resort). It is still unclear, though, when work on that phase will begin.

Brightline recently unveiled their new station to the public, which includes streamlined check-in and baggage check, along with the now-staple Mary Mary Bar and Premium Lounge area. It was also confirmed that 300 parking spaces at MCO’s Terminal C will be reserved specifically for Brightline Passengers.
