News of a family’s Disney vacation went viral on TikTok after it was revealed that the entire trip had almost come under jeopardy due to incorrectly purchased gift cards.
A Disney vacation is undoubtedly memorable, albeit expensive. The immersive experience of going to a Disney Resort is like none other. With the myriad attractions and rides on offer for guests to enjoy at any of Disney’s theme parks, it’s unsurprising why this is the case. The company takes the Disney experience seriously, and few other trips can compare to them.

Considering the cost that goes into making a Disney vacation possible, many families save up for years to be able to afford a trip to Walt Disney World. The vacation becomes uniquely special, and families often plan and do a lot of research to make it happen.
From picking the right Disney World hotel to stay in for the trip to finding the right Walt Disney World vacation package to even deciding on whether you want to partake in the Disney Dining Plan, there’s a lot of effort and expense that makes a Walt Disney World vacation come to pass.
Despite all this… things can still go wrong.

Family’s Disney Trip Threatened By Accidental Purchase of $10,000 Worth of Disney+ Gift Cards…
TikToker Andie Coston took to the social media platform to share how her Disney park vacation almost went horribly wrong and was saved in the nick of time. Here’s the story.
Coston explained that at first, their family had planned to take a big trip to Disney World in 2020, but it was postponed after the pandemic hit.
“We finally planned it for this Christmas. All 16 of my family members were going. To save some money, my parents bought 10k of Disney gift cards to purchase our tickets and restaurant reservations,” Coston explained.

She wrote in her video, “I went home this weekend, and they were having problems loading the gift cards correctly and purchasing the tickets.” Coston showed the gift cards her parents had purchased, and rather than any being a Disney gift card for the parks, they were all Disney+ gift cards instead.
Coston called for help, sharing she didn’t know how to proceed considering “We leave in 6 days and the parks are selling out of tickets because it’s Christmas. My mom is distraught, Dad frustrated, and the kids worried we won’t get into Disney.”
Coston also explained it was an honest mistake since her parents were not familiar with streaming services. The cards had also been rendered ineligible for return since they’d been scratched off for use when the couple had tried paying for reservations on the website.

However, all turned out okay because Disney stepped in and made some magic for the family. The company immediately helped to “turn the $10,000 of Disney streaming gift cards into $10,000 of Disney Parks gift cards.”
It was one of those moments that truly reminded us at Disney Fanatic, and undoubtedly Coston and her family as well, what the Disney magic is about.

“I am so glad we were able to get it resolved, especially for my parent’s sake. It was also good to hear that my parents are not the only ones who have experienced this,” she shared with PEOPLE.
She added, “I received many messages and comments from people telling me that they or someone they know have had similar experiences. I hope that this story makes more people aware of the card difference so no one else experiences this.”
