Universal is not done expanding Fast & Furious in its theme parks.
The franchise has already undergone a major reset at Universal. For years, its biggest theme park presence came through Fast & Furious – Supercharged, which first appeared on the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood before receiving a standalone version at Universal Studios Florida (both of which have since closed).
More recently, Universal has shifted its attention toward something considerably faster.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift officially opened at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 16. The 72 mph roller coaster features 4,100 feet of track and individual ride vehicles capable of rotating 360 degrees to recreate the sensation of drifting.
Hollywood will not keep the concept to itself for long, as Universal Studios Florida is receiving its own Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift in 2027. That version will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and include a 170-foot vertical spike sending riders nearly 17 stories above the edge of Universal CityWalk.
Now, Universal has unexpectedly added another Fast & Furious attraction to the lineup.
A Third Fast & Furious Ride Is Coming
Universal Beijing Resort has announced a new indoor Fast & Furious ride as part of its future expansion plans.
The attraction was revealed during the resort’s fifth anniversary celebrations and has been described as Asia’s first indoor Fast & Furious-themed thrill ride. Unlike Hollywood Drift, the Beijing project will not be an outdoor roller coaster.
Instead, Universal plans to use an entirely indoor ride format combining the franchise’s car chases and action sequences with immersive environments, storytelling, and a dedicated ride system.
Few technical details have been released.

Universal has not confirmed what kind of ride vehicles will be used, where the attraction will sit within the park, or when construction will be completed. No opening date has been announced either.
The announcement nevertheless gives Fast & Furious another major theme park presence just as Hollywood Drift begins welcoming guests in California.
It also means three different Universal destinations now have major Fast & Furious projects either open or on the way: Hollywood, Orlando, and Beijing.
The Beijing ride will be notably different from the two American additions.
Hollywood Drift in California is Universal Studios Hollywood’s first outdoor high-speed roller coaster and the fastest coaster currently operated across Universal Destinations & Experiences. Orlando will use the same drifting concept but receive a layout designed specifically for Florida.
Beijing, meanwhile, is keeping the action indoors.
Universal Beijing Plans More Than One New Experience
The Fast & Furious ride is part of a wider period of investment at Universal Beijing Resort.
The destination opened in September 2021 with seven themed lands, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic World Isla Nublar, Transformers Metrobase, Minion Land, and Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness.
Universal Beijing is celebrating its fifth anniversary throughout 2026 with nine major themed events and additional entertainment across the resort. Universal has previously said that further experiences and intellectual properties would be revealed during the anniversary year.
One of those additions has now arrived alongside Fast & Furious.
Universal also announced Nighttime Spectacular at the Lagoon, a new evening show planned for the park’s central lagoon.
The show is expected to combine “light and shadow, music, storytelling, and live interactions.” Like the new ride, Universal has not yet announced when the nighttime spectacular will debut.
The announcements arrive during a busy year for the Fast & Furious franchise itself.
Universal Pictures is celebrating the property’s 25th anniversary in 2026. The studio says the films have generated more than $7 billion globally since the original The Fast and the Furious arrived in 2001.
Another movie is also coming – Fast Forever is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 17, 2028. The film will continue the saga after Fast X, with Vin Diesel expected to return as Dominic Toretto.
