Universal Orlando Has Announced a Change To Its Halloween Event for 2025

Halloween Horror Nights has been a must-visit event for horror fans for more than 30 years.

From the detailed haunted houses to the spine-tingling scare zones and live performances, the event transforms Universal Studios Florida into a horror lover’s paradise every fall. This year, however, Universal is shaking things up in a big way.

For the first time in its history, Halloween Horror Nights will start in August, with the 2025 event kicking off on August 29 and running through November 2. This earlier start means more nights of terror, giving fans additional opportunities to experience the scares. Universal made the announcement via social media, and fans quickly began buzzing about what this historic change could mean for the event.

While the full lineup of haunted houses for 2025 hasn’t been revealed yet, last year’s houses included favorites like A Quiet Place, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and Insidious: The Further. These properties brought in massive crowds, and speculation about what’s to come in 2025 is already making waves online. Horror Night Nightmares, a fan-favorite source for speculation maps, has begun teasing potential themes, keeping the hype alive.

Halloween Horror Nights requires a separate ticket for admission, so if you’re planning to attend, keep an eye out for ticket sale announcements. Early purchases are recommended to secure your preferred dates, as some nights sell out quickly. For those looking to skip the lines, Express Pass options are always a popular add-on, though they tend to go fast.

Universal Orlando Resort’s decision to extend the event to include August nights reflects the growing popularity of Halloween Horror Nights. This bold move ensures that fans have even more chances to enjoy the attractions, food, and entertainment that make HHN so special. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or planning your first trip, 2025 promises to deliver a bigger, scarier, and more thrilling Halloween Horror Nights experience than ever before.
