Nothing beats a Jet 2 holiday. What’s really scary is if you know what’s going to happen shortly after that bend. 😅

The footage shows the aftermath of one boat colliding with another, causing the first boat to tip and partially sink into the water. While no one appeared to be in any danger, the incident left guests in the front of the first boat partially submerged in the ride water.

The ride came to a halt immediately following the collision, and guests were left to wait for team members to sort things out. Jurassic Park River Adventure was closed for an extended period while the situation was handled, with team members eventually “straightening it out” and restarting the ride. The TikToker was surprised that they were allowed to continue the ride without being evacuated.

“We made it safely,” the Universal Orlando Resort guest said. “…I was surprised they didn’t evacuate the ride but they let us keep going and risk it all in the drop 😩 get. me. off.”

In the aftermath, some former Universal Orlando Resort team members weighed in with their theories about what went wrong. One commenter, @lescarymary, suggested the issue may have been caused by the boats retaining water, making them heavier and possibly causing the collision.

“It’s called piggyback,” they explained. “The boats retain water and was probably not drained all the way making it heavy. Or maybe there was a back up and the boats just pushed on each other. Looks like the pumps are not fully on.”

Another user, @fixiefixie81, who claimed to have worked maintenance on the ride, added, “If the drain flaps on the back came off or got stuck open, it may have taken on water and if the weight distribution was towards the front, caused it to sink in front and drag on bottom…..may have done this on purpose before on a ride through….😆”

Some Universal Parks fans speculated that Jurassic Park River Adventure may be in need of an in-depth refurbishment.

“I have a feeling they’re either going to refurbish the ride or change it because it always seems to have issues,” @savkrissyy commented.

Despite the incident, the Jurassic Park River Adventure attraction had reopened and was operating as usual at the time of this article’s publication.
