Great news to share as Walt Disney World Resort has made a much-needed update to its My Disney Experience App. Now, you’ll be able to link family and friends’ profiles to your account with great ease… with the help of a QR code!
The My Disney Experience App is now more important than ever! With the addition of Disney Genie, Disney Genie+, and Lightning Lane attractions we have found ourselves needing our phones often while in the Disney Parks. Not only is Mobile Ordering for food, beverages, and snacks booming, but you can also check out your merchandise quickly via the app with Mobile Checkout at several Disney stores.

And now it looks like Disney is making more adjustments by solving the problem of having difficulty adding friends and family to the My Disney Experience app. Having the profiles of friends and family linked to your account is super important if you’ve been charged with snagging Park virtual queues, making Disney Genie+ selections, sharing Memory Maker PhotoPass photos, and so on. You can see and help create friends and family plans throughout the day once your accounts are linked.
Disney is taking the process of adding another’s profile to your account rather easier with a new QR linking code feature. @ScottGustin took to Twitter to share, “The Walt Disney World app has been updated and now includes a “linking code” feature to make it easier to connect with family and friends. After you open your QR linking code under My Profile, a friend can scan and link your accounts to book Genie+, Lightning Lane, etc.”
As shown in the image below, you’ll see the option to have a unique linking QR code to let family and friends scan with ease:

When in the My Disney Experience App homepage, simply tap the three lines at the bottom right-hand corner. Scroll to tap on “My Profile”. Once in “My Profile” you’ll see the option of “Show My Linking Code”. Follow along with the super easy step-by-step process from there.
