If you tend to find holiday shopping stressful, and if you’re headed to Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland to celebrate the holidays in Disney style, then good news! Disney has just made Park shopping easier by adding its mobile checkout service to several more locations. According to the Disney Parks Blog, last year Disney had “been testing a new mobile checkout option at select merchandise shops throughout Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, available through [its] mobile apps”. The trial run was clearly a success, and now you can buy things through your phone with far less hassle at many more Disney stores!

The locations within Walt Disney World Resort that are featuring mobile checkout are World of Disney at Disney Springs, the Creations Shop at EPCOT, and the Emporium at Magic Kingdom Park. Two stores that don’t have mobile checkout yet, but will soon, are Mickey’s of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Island Mercantile at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

In Disneyland Resort, there’s even more locations that will have mobile checkout. In Disneyland Park, Disney Clothiers, Ltd. (located in the China Closet and Plaza Point), the Emporium, the Pioneer Mercantile and Bonanza Outfitters, and The Star Trader all have the new service. In Disney California Adventure Park, Elias & Co., WEB Suppliers, and Knick’s Knacks will have mobile checkout. And in the Downtown Disney District, World of Disney will have the new feature.

Acording to the blog post, “merchandise mobile checkout is a convenient shopping option available at select shops – it helps you save time by letting you scan and pay for your items right from your phone. When you’re ready to shop, simply open the My Disney Experience or Disneyland app and scan the barcodes on your souvenirs as you add them to your bag. Once your shopping experience is complete, show your purchase QR code and selected items to a Cast Member at the designated exit, and you’re all set!”

In addition, if you are “shopping with an eligible Annual PassholderMagic Key or Disney Vacation Club discount”, then all you have to do is “make sure your pass or membership is linked to your Disney account, and valid discounts will be applied when you use mobile checkout”.

There you have it! Mobile checkout is a new and fun way to shop within Disney locations. For anyone shopping from home, there’s also shopDisney.
