On March 9, 2022, the Festival of Fantasy made its long-awaited return to the Magic Kingdom’s parade route. But once Maleficent and the rest of the magical floats finished their course, it appears another flash flood decided to take over the streets.

A video was shared by Streaming the Magic that shows Guests covered in ponchos shuffling through ankle-deep water.

The video appears to have been taken on the edge of Tomorrowland, just outside Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. While the extra water is hanging around, it appears that flood-causing rains appear to have passed.

This flood footage follows another recent report covered at Disney Fanatic where some creative Disney fans decided to dance through the flooded thoroughfares of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Click the link below to read our full coverage of that story:

According to WESH reporter Alex Alecci, storm bands are continuing to make their way across Central Florida and unfortunately decide to pass through the Most Magical Place On Earth along the way.

We at Disney Fanatic want to remind our readers that Florida is a state prone to rain showers and storms, and as Spring sets in, more and more can be expected. Rain, of course, puts a literal damper on certain Walt Disney World experiences like walking around World Showcase that do not offer much–if any–coverage from rainfall. Outdoor attractions are also affected and are likely to close if lightning is detected within a certain radius of the Park(s).

All Guests partaking in–or are about to embark on–their Disney vacations should always be mindful of local weather and plan accordingly. If you are having trouble thinking of ways to salvage a drenched Disney day, click below to check out some of our ideas:

We at Disney Fanatic will also continue to keep an eye on the weather and will update our readers as more stories come to light.
