Video: Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser New Details & Backstory Revealed

We are less than two weeks away from the opening of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disney Parks Blog just shared a new behind-the-scenes look at some of the experiences Guests can expect during their two-night excursion onboard the ship as well as some new details on the starcruiser’s backstory. Everything at Walt Disney World has a story to tell, and especially with the legacy of the Star Wars universe behind it, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is no different. In the video above, Imagineer Travis Finstein and Matt Martin from Lucasfilm Franchise Content & Strategy, touch on some of the details that make up the unique backstory of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

The ship, known as the Halcyon has quite the history, and Guests booking a trip aboard the Starcruiser will become a part of it in fully immersive experiences over the course of their two-night stay. As the Halcyon has done in early voyages, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will make its first stop at Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

While onboard the ship, Guests will be immersed in the Star Wars universe, specifically in the timeline between the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019). As the video shows, Guests on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will have the opportunity to become a part of their own Star Wars story, whether in support of the Resistance or the First Order, and through the relationships they form and activities they do (including lightsaber training!)

Stays aboard the Halcyon will include a packed itinerary, unique and exclusive dining opportunities and activities that can only be experienced onboard, as well as that stop at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
