October is here, and while many visitors to Universal Orlando Resort are gearing up for Halloween Horror Nights, it’s important to remember that a few major attractions will be closed this month.
Whether you’re a seasoned park-goer or planning your first trip, knowing what’s unavailable can help you avoid any disappointment during your visit.
First on the list is The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at Islands of Adventure, which will be closed for refurbishment from October 21 until November 6.
This classic attraction, featuring thrilling 3D adventures with your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, is a fan favorite, and its closure may affect many visitors’ plans. Over at Universal Studios Florida, Fast and Furious – Supercharged has been closed since August 19, and will remain down until November 3. While not everyone considers this ride a must-do, its closure can still impact crowd flow in other areas of the park.
Pteranodon Flyers in Islands of Adventure also remains closed indefinitely, with no updates on when repairs will be complete. Me-Ship, The Olive will join the list of closed attractions starting on October 21, with a planned reopening on December 4.
Finally, Shrek’s Swamp for Little Ogres, located in the newly opened DreamWorks Land, is undergoing an unexpected refurbishment, with no current reopening date provided.
Despite these closures, Universal Orlando offers plenty of excitement throughout the month, especially with the ever-popular Halloween Horror Nights 2024 in full swing.
Running select nights through November 3, HHN is famous for its terrifying haunted houses and immersive scare zones, bringing a spooky atmosphere to Universal Studios Florida.
This year, visitors can enter haunted houses based on popular films like Insidious: The Further, A Quiet Place, and the new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Original creations such as Triplets of Terror and Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America offer fresh takes on horror. For those brave enough, Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus delivers a high-energy stage show filled with pyrotechnics and heart-pounding action.
If you’re not attending HHN, it’s still a fantastic time to visit Universal Orlando. Crowds tend to fluctuate during the day, and some regular attractions have much shorter waits during HHN evenings. However, it’s always wise to stay updated on ride closures to avoid missing out on your favorite experiences. With the Halloween season adding a unique flair to the parks, Universal Orlando in October is a one-of-a-kind adventure, even with a few hiccups along the way.
At this time, we don’t have any further updates on any other attractions’ statuses.
