Wanda Maximoff & Vision’s Marvel Cinematic Universe Origins Explained

WandaVision is set to premier on January 15th on Disney+. If you have, like us, been wondering exactly what is this show all about and where does it come from? D23 recently provided some insight.

The show will be featuring both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprising their roles as Wanda Maximoff and Vision, respectively. A blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), WandaVision will explore what happens when these super-powered beings try to hide their powers in an idealized suburban setting. It’s a visionary era, to be sure—but bit by bit, they will start to see the cracks in their new reality.

D23 provides an in-depth look at both Wanda and Vision’s roles and appearance throughout the Marvel universe. These two heroes have had great impacts throughout showing up to provide support and help. If you are a Marvel fan, or just interested in these two heroes, we highly recommend taking a look at this informative article.

Given everything that’s happened, a great detail of mystery surrounds Wanda and Vision’s next adventure in WandaVision. As Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased as part of Disney’s Investor Day 2020 presentation, “Wanda and Vision are two of our most powerful and complex heroes, and this series is a perfect expansion point for MCU storytelling.” What is Vision’s status? What are the full extent of Wanda’s powers? How will familiar faces such as Darcy (Kat Dennings) Jimmy Woo (Randall Park)—and new faces like Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) and Monica Rambeau (Teynoah Parris)—fit into the couple’s new reality? All these questions and more will be answered after WandaVision debuts on January 15. And for an even deeper dive into Wanda and Vision’s MCU origins, watch the first two episodes of the new Disney+ series Marvel Studios: LEGENDS, premiering on January 8.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
