Warning: Stormy Weekend at Disney World

Disney World Weather

Everyone knows that saying about “April Showers,” right? Well, it looks like the last one of the year is going to get here right at the end and carry on into May.

According to the weather team at the Orlando-area NBC affiliate station WESH 2, Central Florida residents and Guests are in for a wet couple of days, and Disney World Guests should plan accordingly.

Weather.com confirms this forecast, showing for Saturday, “Rain showers in the morning with scattered thunderstorms arriving in the afternoon. High 82F. Winds E at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%,” and on Sunday, “Considerable cloudiness with occasional rain showers. Thunder possible. High 84F. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.”

But Guests should not let the clouds and rains fool them as the UV index is showing 7 out of 10 for Saturday and “Extreme” levels on Sunday.

When it’s not raining, Guests planning on a long day outside–be it walking around world showcase at EPCOT or trekking around the lands of Disney’s Animal Kingdom–should be prepared for hot, muggy Florida weather. The forecast shows highs in the mid-to-upper 80s with over 60% humidity.

In regards to crowd forecast, though, it appears to be a half-and-half weekend with Park Reservations available for all four Theme Parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom) currently available as of 9:30 pm ET on April 29, all but only EPCOT stands available for Sunday, May 1.
