Woman Kicked Out of Disney World After 20-Year Vacation!

Longest Disney World Vacation

Camping on-property is one of the oldest Walt Disney World Resort traditions and lodging options for visiting Guests. Opening with Magic Kingdom Park in 1971, the Campground at Fort Wilderness has a legacy of providing Guests with the most affordable means to get the benefits of a Resort Hotel Guest experience as well as a magical opportunity for anyone wanting to go camping at any experience level.

But it turns out that one woman liked camping at Fort Wilderness so much, she basically lived there nonstop for 20 years.

Returning to the Walt Disney World Subreddit, a discussion about the longest Disney World Vacations included one fan who recounted a story of their parents who said that they encountered a woman continuing her stay legitimately for over two decades.

The fan reported, “A woman has lived there pretty much constantly for the last 20 years. Shes had to get the reservations herself online for each stay and she pays the standard rate – no discounts for long stays. she’s actually a vacation planner so she used that to continuously book her stays for years (decades) thru busy times.”

Apparently, the woman has only had to move camping spots twice during her tenure, communicating with the campsite’s front desk and reservations. This story does not seem to have the check marks of a Disney World squatter but rather a completely legitimate Guest who is testing the limits of one’s stay, at least until Covid lockdowns.

The fan says that the woman attempted to sue Disney when they closed down the Resorts, saying that she had a right to the spot based on how long she had been living there. Other fans said that she has been forced out and suspended as a vacation planner.

It should be noted, of course, that the semi-anonymous realm of a subreddit is not usually a place to find reliable sources. Therefore, this story remains unconfirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt. However, it is easy to imagine how a Guest could find a way to stay the entire time, especially one working remotely.

According to the Disney World website, a tent campsite at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground costs around $76-$105 per night, while an RV site costs around $150-$250 per night. At those prices, working full time, how long could you last at Fort Wilderness?
