8. A wild new catch at Wilderness LodgeOnsite at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge you will find Artist Point—a fine dining spot that combines the splendor and beauty of nature with refined, elegant cuisine. A glance at the menu reveals a wide range of already popular culinary marvels, but recent additions continue to keep the mood inspiring and new. One such sought-after example is the new Wild Halibut Cioppino. Alternately listed as “Wild Halibut Paella,” this enticing new entrée combines quality mussels, clams, and bay scallops with pigeon peas, baby fennel, and Carolina gold rice in a mouthwatering meal to be shared by two. So if seafood is your passion then this is definitely something worth diving into.
7. A bacon cheeseburger for vegans? This past autumn Disney’s Yacht Club Resort debuted the Ale & Compass Restaurant, which took the place of the former Captain’s Grille. The newly reimagined dining spot takes on the ambience of a cozy seaside lighthouse while celebrating the traditional gastropub indulgences of New England comfort foods and coastal cuisine. Additionally, you will no doubt notice the many other versatile picks featured on the menu as well, including various signature novelties.
The Grilled Vegan Plant-based “Bacon Cheeseburger” is one such example. How is this possible? Well it is, and it tastes so enticingly delicious that it has both vegans and non-vegans alike hooked. The burger comes with caramelized onions, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayonnaise (yes the mayonnaise is vegan too!) served up to you on multigrain toasted bread. One mouthwatering bite and you’ll be convinced that eating healthy doesn’t mean sacrificing great taste. Additionally, Ale & Compass boasts several other vegan options as well.
6. The Manliest new sandwich picksGaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom Park has served as a hearty snack spot since opening back in 2012 as part of the New Fantasyland expansion. And while we’ve seen entrée selections come and go during the course of the last few years, we are pleased to announce that now Gaston’s Tavern is dishing up two new manly sandwich options to choose from. The first on the list is the Ham, Brie, and Grain Mustard Sandwich served with chips.
The ingredients are pretty self explanatory as to what the sandwich entails, with the combination of proteins and sharp tangy mustard joining forces to deliver a fortifying bold punch. Another force to be reckoned with is the Smoked Turkey, Swiss, and Cranberry Aïoli Sandwich, also served with chips. These sandwiches are in no way small or puny, but rather robust, filling, and able to deliver all the energizing strength to keep you going.
