14 Things You Should Pack For Your Magical Vacation

Comfortable Clothing That Can Be Layered

Florida weather necessitates layered clothing.  The hot midday sun will make you want to hit the parks in tanks and shorts to stay as cool as possible.  Depending on the time of year you are visiting you may need to bring cold weather layers like sweatshirts and windbreakers as well. January and February trips to Orlando could result in some chilly evening temperatures.

Great Walking Shoes, Sunglasses, and Hats

It is no secret that a Disney vacation involves lots of walking.  Packing comfortable shoes that support your feet, don’t rub or chafe is really important.  Packing back up shoes to use in the case of wet or broken walking shoes is a great idea.  Sunglasses and hats are another park necessity that you should not leave home without.  Although I don’t wear hats in the real world, I never go out in the Florida sun without the sun protection of a hat.  Sunglasses, hats and shoes on the Walt Disney World property are expensive unplanned purchases for guests.

A Spacious But Appropriately-Sized Park Bag

An easy to access park pack is a great item to add to your list.  A sturdy backpack with only a few compartments or a shoulder bag that you can stash sunscreen, drinks and cameras in is a great option. Bringing a bag with fewer compartments will make the bag check line easier and quicker. Don't go too big, you'll regret it after a few hours in the park!
