15 Things Disney Rookies Must Do At Disney World's Epcot

Epcot Illuminations Japan

1. IllumiNations

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is Epcot’s own signature nighttime spectacular—a phenomenal display of fireworks, light, music, and wondrous water works shown nightly over the World Showcase Lagoon. In keeping with the harmonious theme of humankind and culture Epcot forever rejoices in, this ultimate evening celebration starts off with the explosive birth of the planet and then progresses with an emphasis on a hopeful and triumphant tomorrow. The climax of the show is the emergence of a hovering globe over the water, showing changing scenes depicting the world’s diversity and advancements. Then comes the grand finale with the suspended globe blossoming open to reveal a blazing torch of hope and dreams.

As a Disney rookie it’s also important for you to know that some of the aforementioned attractions are pretty popular, and your best bet is to get a FastPass+ when you are able to do so. Additionally, it’s also always a good idea to make any and all dining reservations well in advance (up to 180 days in advance for Disney World Resort guests). Depending on your own personal interests you may find that there are so many other Epcot experiences to consider as well, like specific character meet-and-greets, seasonal festivals and events, and more, so always be sure to keep your opportunities open and enjoy your magical visit to the fullest.
