From cult classics to notable novelties, we’re taking a look at the top 21 sundaes you simply have to try on your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

21. Sprinkles Sundae

Over at Disney Springs you’ll find Sprinkles—a sweet shop known for baked goodies, cupcakes, cookies and more. And yes, they even scoop up some delightfully decadent ice cream sundaes as well. One of their most famed specialties is their Sprinkles Sundae. This comes served up as a single scoop of ice cream, sandwiched between a cupcake top and bottom.

20. Plaza Sundae

The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, located on Main Street, U. S. A. at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park is home to a wide range of novelty ice cream concoctions and classics alike. But this house specialty remains an all-time fan favorite. Served up in a freshly made waffle bowl, you get to choose which two scoops of flavored ice cream you desire, which will then get topped with hot fudge, whipped cream and a crowning cherry.

19. Mickey Ears Bowl Sundae

Here is another specialty dished up at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, and as you probably guessed, it comes in a special Mickey Ears bowl. Again, you get to decide which two flavor scoops you want as well as whether you prefer hot fudge, peanut butter, or caramel as your topping sauce. A garnishment of whipped cream and two cherries complete this mouthwatering masterpiece.


18. Brownie Sundae (Plaza version)

For our third pick of sundae specialties to be gotten at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor we present this decadent dessert, which is comprised of a warm brownie decked out with hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Again, you choose the flavor for your two scoops of ice cream.

17. Brownie Sundae (Auntie Gravity’s version)

The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor isn’t the only place at Magic Kingdom Park where you can sink your teeth into a gooey brownie sundae. Just head over to Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies over in Tomorrowland. Here you will find their own presentation, which comes to you as vanilla soft-serve over a brownie with your choice of hot fudge or strawberry topping.


16. Heigh-Ho Sundae

Storybook Treats is another exceptional place in the Magic Kingdom where you can find cool concoctions and novelty ice cream treats. One of the most beloved sundae presentations on the menu here is the Heigh-Ho Sundae. This featured compilation comes as chocolate soft-serve topped with chocolate rocks, graham cracker bits, and a sendoff of whipped cream and hot fudge. Also take note that traditional hot fudge and strawberry sundaes remain favorites on the menu here as well, just in case you want something a little less busy.

15. Sand Pail

For a chillingly cool concoction, head on over to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and check out I.C. Expeditions. Here you’ll find plenty of palatable treats, including a unique take on a traditional hot fudge sundae, in which they include a brownie into the mix. But one of the most unique collaborations worth noting here is the Sand Pail. Served up in an actual sand pail-likened bucket, no less, this sundae of sorts blends together chocolate and vanilla soft-serve with sprinkles, pieces of waffle and cookie bits, caramel sauce, hot fudge, and an adorning crown of whipped cream with a cherry.

14. KiteTails Sundae

At Anandapur Ice Cream Truck, located within Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, you’ll find this one-of-a-kind original sundae that knows no equal. Here you have a lemon and strawberry soft-serve, blended together with a smattering of colored sprinkles and a white chocolate medallion on top.


13. Old-Fashioned Hot Fudge Sundae

You’ll find the quick service snack stop known as Dino-Bite Snacks also on location in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, at DinoLand U. S. A., to be exact. And while there’s much to delight in on the menu, this tradition, draped in nostalgia, comes as a combination of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, walnuts, and a cherry.


12. World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae

For this decadent dessert we head back over to Disney Springs, this time making a stop at the one and only Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop. This renowned hit combines the goodness of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge, crowned with whipped cream, a sprinkling of diced almonds, and a cherry.

11. Strike It Rich Butterscotch Hot Fudge Sundae

Ghirardelli is also home to this novelty, which—as its name implies—boasts some pretty expensive tastes. Here they ply traditional vanilla and pecan ice cream with all the works—sea salt, caramel/butterscotch sauce, diced almonds, Ghirardelli SQUARES White Chocolate Caramel, and whipped cream.

Another Ghirardelli favorite that’s a hit with many is this nautical nicety, which mixes together vanilla ice cream, sea salt, caramel sauce, hot fudge, and a crowning adornment of whipped cream, sea salt, and a Ghirardelli SQUARES milk chocolate bar.

9. Shoreside Sundae

We head on over to Disney’s BoardWalk Ice Cream to enjoy this next novelty, which comprises of three scoops of vanilla ice cream, drenched in hot fudge and marshmallow, with a smattering of Snickers candy bar bits and chopped nuts atop an adornment of whipped cream with a cherry.

Another seafaring favorite to be had at BoardWalk Ice Cream is this enticing three-scoop presentation, in which you get to decide your topping from the following: marshmallow, pineapple, strawberry, peanut butter, hot fudge, caramel, or chocolate syrup. Each sundae gets garnished with whipped cream and toasted almonds, and comes with a cherry on top.


7. Surf’s Up Sundae

Similar to the aforementioned, here is another BoardWalk favorite, where you get to indulge in two scoops of ice cream of your choosing as well as the same choices from toppings offered in the Ride The Wave Sundae.


6. Thundering Surf Peanut Butter and Chocolate Sundae

Our last tantalizing pick to be found at BoardWalk Ice Cream is this roaring favorite, dished up as a collaboration of chocolate and vanilla ice cream paired with peanut butter, hot fudge, chocolate, whipped cream, and a cherry. Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is a famed favorite for ice cream and other eats. And on their elaborate menu you will find a number of iconic hits. While we narrow down the best of the best, we’re starting out with this candy-lover’s dream come true, served up as three scoops of vanilla, drowning in hot fudge, marshmallow, bits of Snickers candy, and a crowning compilation of whipped cream, chopped peanuts, and a cherry.

Another Beaches & Cream favored hit is this brownie-based sundae, drenched in hot fudge and blended together with three scoops of vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookies, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup with a cherry.


3. Old-Fashioned Sundae

You can’t go wrong with the old-fashioned originals, especially when you order from a notable ice cream venue such as Beaches & Cream. Here they offer their Old-Fashioned Sundae as either a two-scoop or three-scoop option, in which you get to pick a topping from the following: marshmallow, strawberry, peanut butter, pineapple, caramel, hot fudge, or chocolate sauce. Each sundae gets a crown of whipped cream and adornments of toasted almonds and a cherry.


2. Classic Banana Split

Here’s another classic to delight in onsite at Beaches & Cream. As tradition dictates, this familiar favorite combines a ripe banana, three scoops of ice cream in flavors of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, marshmallow, hot fudge, pineapple, strawberry, caramel, whipped cream, almonds, and a cherry.

Perhaps the most praise-worthy sundae in all of Walt Disney World is this elaborate extraordinaire of all ice cream concoctions. It’s the one and only Kitchen Sink for four. And as expected, they pack in a lot—various scoops of ice cream in flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cookies ‘n cream, and mint chocolate chip, paired with hot fudge, peanut butter, Snickers, a fresh-baked brownie, and various other toppings. There’s also a chocolate-lover’s version as well. Also available are Mickey and Minnie Souvenir Sinks, which include vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream flavors, topped with pineapple, strawberry, hot fudge, peanut butter, whipped cream, Oreo cookies, brownie, sprinkles, cherries, and more.

The extended list for each and every ice cream confection to be had at Walt Disney World Resort is much, much longer. And newly featured items are forever being added to the lineup.
