29-Year-Old Disney+ Star Dies Tragically After Fatal Fall

South Korean actress and star of the Disney+ K-Pop Drama “Snowdrop,” Park Soo-Ryun, died at 29.

Hours before she was set to perform on Jeju, the largest island in South Korea, Park slipped and fell down a large flight of stairs on Sunday, June 11. Doctors tried to resuscitate her, but Park was pronounced brain dead shortly after she was admitted to the hospital. On Twitter, @allkpop shared a tribute to Park Soo-Ryun:

The drama actress and singer was known for her supporting role in the Disney+ series Snowdrop by Jisoo and Jung Hae In, which premiered in December 2021. In the series, Park portrayed one of the university students who was detained and released by authorities.

Before her Disney+ debut, Park appeared in the musical Il Tenore in 2018. Continuing her singing career in the popular musicals Finding Mr. DestinyThe Days We Loved, and Siddhartha, the star has a large following in the K-Pop world.

According to a report by Soompi, Park’s family made the heart-wrenching decision to let her go once she was pronounced legally dead at the hospital. In a statement, Park’s mother shared they will be donating her organs:

Only her brain is unconscious, and her heart is still beating. There must be someone who desperately needs [organs]. As her mother and father, we will be able to live comforted [by the thought that her heart] has gone to someone and is beating.

Park Soo-Ryun isn’t the only Snowdrop actress to pass away unexpectedly. On January 5, 2022, South Korean actress Kim Mi-soo died due to unspecified causes that have yet to be discovered. In an eerie coincidence, Kim Mi-soo was also 29 years old when she passed. A post shared shortly after her passing by @notkimjsloops commemorated Kim:

Several tributes have poured in on social media to mourn the untimely passing of the vibrant drama and musical actress Park Soo-Ryun. Her parents survive her, and her family is grieving the unimaginable loss.
