While the Disney parks offer the most unique experiences in entertainment, there is no need for the fun to stop there! There are so many experiences on property that are outside of the parks to indulge in. Here are some great ideas for having fun outside of the parks!
9. Pool Dance Parties
One of the most fun experiences at the Disney World Resort pools are the pool parties with the cast members. The little ones can play some pretty fun pool games and scavenger hunts, which gives them an opportunity to meet some friends and win prizes! I personally love the trivia questions because I can play along while I enjoy some sunshine. This is a great way to enjoy some fun outside of the parks and enjoy Florida’s weather!
8. Piano Playing at Grand Floridian
Another great way to relax and enjoy some outside of the park entertainment is to enjoy the piano playing and band at the Grand Floridian lobby. The musicians play some great classics that will take you back in time. My personal favorite is seeing little princesses’ dance with their daddy’s and grandfathers to the beautiful music. If you are dining at this resort, be sure to arrive ahead of time so that you can enjoy the music before dining, or stay after dining to relax.
7. Movies under the stars
This is by far my favorite way to chill out after a day full of fun. Every Disney resort offers a different movie every night that is projected onto a king-sized screen outside under the stars. Bring your blankets and watch a classic Disney film every night with your family and friends. I recommend grabbing some dinner and make it a ‘dinner and a show’. The views are always amazing and it’s a great way to spice up your movie watching!
6. Safari’s at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Who doesn’t love seeing wildlife up close? At Disney’s Animal Kingdom lodge you can do just that! Get up close to some amazing giraffes, zebras, hedgehogs, and so much more! Sign up early to ensure a spot on the safari and tour! If you have never stayed at this resort, you may want to look into it. You will be able to see the savannah directly outside your balcony!
5. Camp Fire Sing along at Fort Wilderness
S’mores after dinner with Chip and Dale? I’m sold! The Fort Wilderness campgrounds offer a great campfire and sing along with Chip and Dale for every one of all ages before their movie under the stars showing. You can purchase your very own s’mores kit and roast your marshmallows to perfection. Doing this with the little ones is fun and unique too. Once you prepare your s’mores, sing and dance with Chip and Dale as they party the night away!
4. Jellyrolls
Spending time with the little ones is priceless, but sometimes it’s important to take a break and enjoy some adult time. Here is where Jellyrolls comes into play. Jellyrolls is a fantastic piano bar for adults that offers loads of entertainment and is open late! Located on the Boardwalk, this is not a place you will want to skimp out on if you’re looking to spend time with friends or your significant other.
3. Electrical Water Pageant
If you are staying in the Magic Kingdom resort area, or dining and enjoying any of these locations make sure to ask the front desk for the Electrical Water Pageant show times. Grab your family and friends and enjoy the nighttime show on the seven seas lagoon. You will be floored by the length, color, and lights of the pageant and enjoy listening to correlating tunes. This only lasts about 15-20 minutes, but it’s worth the show!

2. Board Walk Magic Shows
The Boardwalk Resort offers many dining and shopping options along with carnival style games and music, but the most attended event has to be the magic show. The magicians on the Boardwalk perform some pretty cool tricks and will have every one of all ages asking, “how did he do that?” The magicians do a fantastic job of including the audience in their act and it’s a great way to enjoy yet another unique experience with the ones you love.
1. Downtown Disney
This place needs no introduction. Downtown Disney offers a plethora of out-of-the-park entertainment to please every member of your party no matter their age. Downtown Disney offers unbelievable, unique restaurant dining, dine-in movie theaters, a state of the art bowling alley, an unbelievable Lego shop, shops with authentic and diverse Disney memorabilia, and home to the infamous Cirque Du Soleil show, La Nouba. It also hosts Disney Quest, an all-indoor theme park with amazing technological rides. My personal favorite are the DJ’s that host dance parties right in the middle of all the fun. Next time you want to have some fun outside of the parks, you should definitely check out Downtown Disney!
