How to Enjoy EPCOT’s World Showcase Responsibly: A Guide to Savoring the Magic Without the Mayhem

There is nothing wrong with having a drink or two while wandering around the World Showcase, but this is getting out of control. Since when has it been a good idea to hang around Disney World, get hammered, and have a good old-fashioned fistfight?

Not long ago, I was walking out to my car, minding my own business, when a fistfight broke out in the parking lot of EPCOT.

Two drunk women started to throw down as they were about to get into their cars. Security escorted them away, but not before they made fools of themselves and probably got arrested. The best part is that they were in the same family. Clearly, something is going on there.

EPCOT’s World Showcase is a fantastic place to explore global cultures, indulge in delicious foods, and yes, enjoy a refreshing drink or two. However, while a leisurely drink around the world can enhance your experience, it’s important to keep things classy and respectful.

Unfortunately, there have been a few instances where things have gotten a bit out of hand. Let’s take a moment to discuss how to make the most of your EPCOT visit while keeping the magic intact!

Stay Classy While Visiting Disney World

Recently, there was an incident in the EPCOT parking lot that highlighted a need for some gentle reminders on how to enjoy your time responsibly. Two guests had a heated altercation after a day of festivities, which is a reminder that while EPCOT is all about fun and exploration, maintaining decorum is key.

So, let’s outline some golden rules to ensure that everyone can have a magical time without any drama.

Rule 1: No Chanting, Please

We get it—celebrating with friends while drinking around the world is a blast! And yes, those matching T-shirts and enthusiastic chants can be fun. But let’s keep the noise level down.

Constant chanting as you hop from one pavilion to another can disrupt the experience for other guests, especially families with young children. Enjoy your celebrations, but let’s leave the chants for your private gatherings, not the public spaces.

Rule 2: Keep It Cool

Remember, EPCOT is a family-friendly park where magic happens every day. There’s no need for heated arguments or physical altercations in the middle of the Mexico Pavilion or anywhere else on the property.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or upset, take a breather and handle it away from the public eye. A little common courtesy goes a long way in maintaining the park’s cheerful atmosphere.

Rule 3: Be Mindful of the Kids

EPCOT is home to many families with children, and it’s crucial to remember that the park is a place for all ages. One memorable experience involved a family bathroom incident that was less than ideal for young children.

While not every situation is as extreme, it’s a good practice to keep your behavior in check. Let’s ensure that the park remains a welcoming environment for guests of all ages by keeping things clean and respectful.

Rule 4: Weekends for Adults, Weekdays for Families

To strike a balance between enjoyment and responsibility, why not set a little agreement? Weekends can be dedicated to those who want to experience EPCOT’s nightlife and drink around the world, while weekdays are ideal for families visiting the park.

This way, both groups can have a great experience without stepping on each other’s toes. It’s a win-win situation that allows adults to unwind and families to enjoy their time in a more relaxed environment.

The goal is to ensure that everyone has a magical experience at EPCOT’s World Showcase. By following these guidelines, you can savor your drinks and the unique atmosphere of each pavilion while being considerate of others around you. The park’s charm lies in its ability to offer something special for every guest, so let’s all do our part to keep it that way.

So here’s to a fantastic Disney World adventure—cheers to good times, great company, and respectful behavior! And remember, these tips are meant to enhance your experience and ensure that EPCOT remains a place where everyone can enjoy the magic to the fullest.

In the meantime, enjoy yourselves, be safe, and please keep it clean. Deal?

  1. seriously, the amount spent on tickets, and then the excessive cost of drinks who would want to afford such a waste. Enjoy where you are at without the need to drink alcohol, and if this is something you have to have, try Disney springs or Universal city walk. OH and the ice in your drink does not count on water to stay hydrated.

  2. In the last few years, drinking to excess seems to be the way to go. New Years, the 4th, Halloween, Christmas have all become “drinking celebrations”. Sad. Always funny/sad to see someone who has had one to many get on a ride that “shakes you up” then watch them throw up all that high priced alcohol.

  3. I don’t drink alcohol at all. It’s best for myself to avoid confrontation with other people who are believed to be drunk & might start a physical fight. Wouldn’t want to become a complete victim.
