Trump Thinks Disney Beat, “Embarrassed” DeSantis

Accusations fly that Disney gave DeSantis huge donation

Even though Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is continuing to tell people, “You ain’t seen nothing yet,” scores of voices in the media and the Twittersphere are already declaring The Walt Disney Company the clever victor in the battle for control over the area previously known as The Reedy Creek Improvement District. And that now includes Former President Donald Trump.

While he still has not officially confirmed it, many anticipate Governor DeSantis to announce his candidacy for the Presidency in 2024. His national popularity and the general possibility of his running have already drawn the attention of Former President Trump as he looks to reclaim The White House. Already attacking DeSantis on a variety of issues, Trump most recently shared his thoughts on the Reedy Creek fight with The Walt Disney Company.

While he did not comment on who was in the right, Trump took to his Truth Social Media account and said, “Ron DeSanctimonious got outplayed, outsmarted, and embarrassed by Mickey Mouse and Disney.”

Jump-started by The Walt Disney Company’s declaration of dissent against The Sunshine State’s Parental Rights in Education Law–unofficially titled the “Don’t Say Gay Bill” by the opposition–lawmakers in Tallahassee sought to put the Media and Entertainment conglomerate’s influence in check, going so far as to find a way to end their autonomy by eliminating the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

While the district lines were kept in place in order to prevent Florida taxpayers from being left with Disney’s bond debt, Reedy Creek was restructured as the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District with a Governor-appointed board to make decisions based on the best interests of the entire state, rather than that of the Mouse. However, an eleventh-hour meeting of Reedy Creek’s pro-Disney board finalized arrangements to pre-approve development privileges for up to 30 years. DeSantis ordered an investigation into any intentional sedition, but that investigation went nowhere.
