Exciting News: Three Disney Rides Will Be Back in Action This Month

Anyone who has visited Walt Disney World knows that refurbishments are a regular part of keeping the parks in top condition. While closures can be disappointing, the silver lining is that they often lead to a refreshed and improved experience. This month, three beloved attractions are making their return, and guests won’t have to wait much longer to enjoy them!

Here’s everything you need to know about what’s reopening in March.

The Bat Exhibit at Maharajah Jungle Trek Is Back

Animal Kingdom’s Maharajah Jungle Trek is a peaceful yet exciting attraction that lets visitors get up close with incredible wildlife. One of its most fascinating exhibits—the bat enclosure—was temporarily closed for refurbishment starting on February 17, 2025.

Luckily, the closure was short-lived, and the exhibit is expected to reopen in early March. While the rest of the jungle trek remained open, this particular area is a highlight for many guests who love learning about the massive flying foxes. If you’re heading to Animal Kingdom soon, you’ll once again be able to admire these impressive creatures.

Kali River Rapids Returns for Warmer Weather

Another Animal Kingdom favorite, Kali River Rapids, has been closed for maintenance since January 6. This thrilling water ride is known for its exciting twists, turns, and splashes, making it a must-ride attraction during hot Florida days. Since it typically undergoes yearly maintenance in the cooler months, its closure wasn’t a huge surprise.

The good news? The attraction is officially set to reopen on March 14, just in time for spring break crowds. If you don’t mind getting soaked, be sure to grab a poncho or a change of clothes before hopping aboard!

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros Returns

Over in EPCOT, the Gran Fiesta Tour inside the Mexico Pavilion has been unavailable since January 6 due to scheduled refurbishments. This relaxing boat ride follows Donald Duck, Panchito, and José Carioca on a fun-filled journey through Mexico, featuring colorful backdrops, lively music, and plenty of Disney charm.

After more than two months of downtime, the attraction will reopen on March 15, bringing back one of EPCOT’s most delightful family-friendly rides.

Other Closures to Keep in Mind

While these three attractions are coming back soon, several others remain under refurbishment. If you’re planning a trip, here are some of the biggest ongoing closures:

  • The Hall of Presidents (Magic Kingdom) – Closed on January 20, 2025, with an expected return later in the year.
  • Astro Orbiter (Magic Kingdom) – Temporarily closed as of January 13; scheduled to return this summer.
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Magic Kingdom) – Undergoing a long-term refurbishment and won’t return until 2026.
  • Test Track (EPCOT) – Closed since June 17, 2024, for a major reimagining and set to reopen in late summer 2025.
  • Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy (Hollywood Studios) – Permanently closed to make way for a new Disney Villains-themed show debuting in 2025.
