On Tuesday, an unexpected closure affected one of Walt Disney World Resort’s most beloved dining spots. The ‘Ohana restaurant inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort was forced to close abruptly, leaving many guests scrambling for alternative dinner plans.
Guests who checked the My Disney Experience app were greeted with a surprise pop-up warning informing them that the popular Table Service dining location would not be operating that evening. Others were turned away at the door. The app stated:
“Operating Hours Update
‘Ohana is unexpectedly closed for dinner tonight.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please use My Disney Experience to check for availability at one of our other dining locations.”

‘Ohana, which first opened in 1995, has long been a go-to for character dining during breakfast and family-style dinners. The restaurant is known for its iconic Hawaiian-inspired dishes, including the much-loved ‘Ohana noodles, chicken skewers, and coconut bread pudding.
Breakfast prices at ‘Ohana range from $35 to $59.99, while dinner starts at $60 per guest, making it one of the pricier dining options at Walt Disney World Resort. The Table Service dining location is often fully booked well in advance. Reservations are highly recommended, though the restaurant does offer a walk-up list for those who couldn’t secure a spot.

The location is accessible not only to guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort but also to anyone visiting Walt Disney World Resort. Those not staying at the resort can park at the nearby Transportation & Ticket Center or take Disney transportation to Magic Kingdom to catch the Monorail to the Polynesian.
As of now, Disney has not disclosed the reason for the sudden closure of the luxury restaurant. While the dining location is expected to remain closed for the evening, there is no word on whether Ohana will reopen for breakfast on March 19. There’s still a lot of uncertainty surrounding the closure, and guests with reservations on March 18 are advised to check the My Disney Experience app for updates and to explore walk-up lists at other locations.

Though ‘Ohana typically has a no-show fee for missed reservations, Disney likely waived this fee for Tuesday evening, given the unexpected closure. As always, guests should keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date information about the restaurant’s status.
