Disney’s Halloween Party Guests Are in for a Big Surprise This Year

If you thought Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party couldn’t get any better, think again. Disney has a little trick up its sleeve for the 2025 season, and it’s one you won’t see coming until you’re in the park.

The Halloween party is already one of the most anticipated events of the year at Magic Kingdom. Running on select nights from August 15 through October 31, it transforms the park into a playful, spooky wonderland. Guests get to experience shorter wait times for rides, exclusive entertainment like Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade and Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, plus trick-or-treating trails overflowing with candy.

But the magic goes beyond the big, scheduled events. Some of the most unforgettable moments come from the smaller details—the Cadaver Dans harmonizing in Frontierland, special ride overlays, and unique character meet-and-greets you won’t find any other time of year.

This year, Disney is adding another of those “little” details that will actually have a big impact: a brand-new lineup of PhotoPass Magic Shots.

If you’ve been to the party before, you know these are no ordinary photos. PhotoPass photographers positioned around the park can add digital effects to your shots, creating the illusion that you’re interacting with beloved Disney characters or spooky scenes.

For 2025, favorites like the Oogie Boogie Moon and Halloween Balloons are sticking around, but new additions like the Haunted Mansion Collage and Spooky Cauldron are making their debut. These aren’t just cute—these are the kind of photos you’ll want to frame when you get home.

The Haunted Mansion Collage layers ghostly imagery from the attraction into your shot, making it look like you’ve stepped right into the ride’s most iconic scenes. Meanwhile, the Spooky Cauldron shot adds a magical, bubbling brew to your hands—perfect for a little villainous flair.

These surprises might not overshadow the fireworks or the parade, but they’re exactly the kind of thoughtful touches that keep fans coming back year after year. They’re also a reminder that Disney is always finding ways to make even returning experiences feel new again.

If you’re heading to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year, keep your eyes peeled for those PhotoPass photographers—you never know what kind of spooky magic they’ll capture.
