Nearly three decades after Jurassic Park (1993) first terrified and thrilled audiences, the franchise is getting a new kind of installment—this time in the form of a video game that sidesteps recent films entirely.
“Jurassic Park: Survival”, developed by Saber Interactive, is a first-person action-adventure game set on Isla Nublar 24 hours after the events of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film.

Players assume the role of Dr. Maya Joshi (portrayed in the game by Payal Mistry), an InGen scientist who was left behind during the evacuation of the park.
The game focuses on survival rather than combat, with players needing to navigate the island using stealth, resource management, and environmental awareness. According to the official synopsis, players will “experience the wonder and danger of dinosaurs, each with their own distinct and adaptive behaviors brought to life by John Hammond’s vision.”

Familiar locations from the film, including the Visitor Center and T. rex enclosure, are included, alongside brand-new areas such as a resort hotel and underground bunkers.
The game also promises an unpredictable ecosystem where dinosaurs react realistically to the player’s actions, while returning to the original film's roots, a clear departure from the outlandish blockbuster-style storytelling of recent films like Jurassic World Rebirth.
The latest sequel, which earned $869.1 million worldwide, faced criticism over its storytelling decisions and mutant dinosaurs. While another film sequel seems likely, “Jurassic Park: Survival” will offer fans a way to experience the series in a more grounded, suspense-driven setting, a core ingredient that made the original film so successful.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, though a release date has not been announced.
