A reopening date quietly changed on Disney’s official calendar this week.
Disney parks regularly close attractions and restaurants for refurbishment. At EPCOT, Frozen Ever After recently returned after updates. At Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad remains down for an extended refurbishment project, which includes new effects and a total track replacement.

In California, Disneyland Park is juggling its own closures. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is currently unavailable to guests (although Disney just announced that it will reopen tomorrow), and Jungle Cruise is scheduled to close in February.
Typically, Disney provides a reopening timeframe and sticks to it. However, that is currently not the case at one park.
Tokyo DisneySea Pushes Terrace Reopening to 2027
At Tokyo DisneySea, the terrace seating at the Teddy Roosevelt Lounge will now reopen on April 1, 2027.

The space had previously been scheduled to return on April 8, 2026.
The lounge closed in November alongside the outdoor terrace. While the interior is expected to resume operations in April, the terrace will remain closed for nearly an additional year.
Tokyo Disney Resort has not publicly explained the delay.
Guests quickly reacted online. As one wrote on X, “Is there no one around, or is there no motivation…?”

Tokyo DisneySea is often regarded by fans as Disney’s most immersive park. The American Waterfront area — home to the Teddy Roosevelt Lounge — is one of its signature lands.
The lounge draws inspiration from the former U.S. president. According to the park: “This lounge, with the atmosphere of an upscale early 20th century social club, is named after the great American adventurer and leader, President Theodore Roosevelt, nicknamed ‘Teddy,'” the park explains on its website. “While he achieved many great things, the four wooden carved bears in the lounge are also inspired by anecdotes about President Roosevelt.”
A Popular Space in a Crowded Park
The American Waterfront also houses the Tower of Terror, a version unique to Japan and not tied to The Twilight Zone, along with Turtle Talk and Toy Story Mania!. The DisneySea Electric Railway runs through the port, adding to the area’s traffic.

Crowd levels at Tokyo DisneySea have remained high in recent months. Soaring: Fantastic Flight and Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey regularly post lengthy waits.
In January, Soaring: Fantastic Flight reportedly reached a 6.5-hour queue.
Dining locations at the park often serve as critical relief from congestion. The terrace at Teddy Roosevelt Lounge offered outdoor seating with views and breathing room.
With its reopening now set for 2027 instead of 2026, guests planning trips over the next year will have one fewer space available.
