Three of Disney's Art of Animation Resort's themed guest room sections are entering a construction window, according to six permits filed by Walt Disney World Resort on the same day.
Six Permits, Three Themes, One Busy Year Ahead

On March 20, Walt Disney World Resort's Facility Asset Management group filed six Notice of Commencement documents covering guest buildings across the Finding Nemo (2003), The Lion King (1994), and Cars (2006) sections of Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Each permit names Ferran Services & Contracting Inc. as the contractor responsible for mechanical work at the affected locations. Each carries an expiration date of March 20, 2027, giving crews up to a full year to complete the work.
The breakdown by building covers a lot of ground. Three Cars buildings at 1650, 1700, and 1750 Animation Way Bay Lake are included, joined by two Finding Nemo buildings at 1800 and 1900 Animation Way Bay Lake, and one Lion King building at 1950 Animation Way Bay Lake. The resort's Little Mermaid (1989) section does not appear in any of the six filings.

Facility Asset Management handles routine maintenance and upkeep across Walt Disney World Resort's parks, hotels, and Disney Springs rather than headline-making renovations or rethemes. The descriptor “mechanical work” in each document points to behind-the-scenes infrastructure such as HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, and similar projects that keep a hotel running without necessarily changing anything resort guests can see.
How It Affects Upcoming Stays

Walt Disney World Resort hasn't offered any additional details beyond what appears in the permit filings. Standard Disney practice calls for phasing this kind of work across buildings in rotation, keeping enough rooms available to honor existing reservations throughout the project. Daytime construction hours are the norm, timed to when most Art of Animation guests are out at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or Disney Springs.
Guests booked at Disney's Art of Animation Resort this year who have questions or concerns about construction near their room are encouraged to connect with a cast member at the Front Desk.
